Refund policy

Returns & Refunds

We want you to be happy with your purchase from The Gaming Shelf. This policy explains how returns, cancellations and refunds work for orders placed through our online store.

Change-of-mind returns

If you change your mind about an online purchase, you can notify us that you wish to cancel within 14 days of receiving your order. Once you have notified us, you then have a further 14 days to return the item.

To start a return, contact us at thegamingshelfstore@gmail.com before sending anything back. We will provide you with return instructions.

Items should be returned in the condition in which they were received. You may inspect an item as you reasonably would in a shop, but we may make a deduction from the refund if the item's value has been reduced by handling beyond what is necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning.

Unless the item is faulty, damaged, incorrect, or we agree otherwise, you are responsible for the cost of returning a change-of-mind return.

New & sealed games

Where a game is supplied as sealed computer software, your statutory right to cancel may be lost if the seal is broken after delivery.

If you wish to return a new/sealed game because you have changed your mind, please therefore keep the original seal intact.

This does not affect your statutory rights if the item is faulty, damaged or not as described.

Pre-owned games

Pre-owned games may show reasonable signs of previous use, as described on our website. This does not affect your statutory rights.

For change-of-mind returns, please take reasonable care of the game, case, artwork and any other included items while they are in your possession.

Faulty, damaged or incorrect items

Please contact us as soon as possible if your order arrives damaged, is faulty, or you receive the wrong item.

Goods sold by The Gaming Shelf must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose in accordance with applicable UK consumer law.

If goods do not meet these requirements, you may have statutory rights to a refund, repair or replacement. These rights are separate from the change-of-mind cancellation rights above.

Where goods are rejected because they are faulty or otherwise do not conform to the contract, we will cover reasonable return costs where required by law.

Refunds

Once we receive your return, we will inspect it and process any refund due.

For valid cancellations, refunds will be made to your original payment method and will include the standard outbound delivery charge where required by law. If you chose a more expensive delivery service than our standard option, the additional delivery cost is not refundable unless required by law.

Refunds will be made within the applicable statutory time limits. Your bank or payment provider may take additional time to show the refund in your account.

Exchanges

If you'd like a different item, please contact us. Where appropriate, the simplest option may be to return the original item and place a new order.

Sale items

Sale or discounted items are subject to the same statutory consumer rights as full-price items.
